Do you take your kidney for granted

Google

The kidney is such an important organ, yet most people have little idea about its crucial role in the body. Consequently, we unknowingly distress this vital organ, mainly through poor lifestyle habits and choices.

Most people are born with two, but it is possible to survive with only one healthy kidney. These two powerful organs work on a continuous basis, ridding the body of harmful toxins. They are unbelievably important and if they become damaged or diseased, your life would be changed significantly. They play a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis and overall health.

Recent statistics indicate, however, that renal failure is on the increase. According to recent statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 100,000 solid organ transplants are performed every year worldwide. Of this figure, 68,300 are kidney transplants, 19,900 are liver transplants, 5,200 are heart transplants, 3,250 are lung transplants and 2,800 are pancreas transplants. Overall, renal transplants account for almost 69% of all solid organ transplants, worldwide.

The sad reality is that most cases of organ diseases are completely avoidable, with simple dietary and lifestyle adjustments.
